Tours

The ABN AMRO art collection was originally initiated to brighten up the working environment for all the business' employees. Accordingly, the majority of the works of art can still be found in the bank's public spaces and in the offices of senior management. However, works from the collection can also regularly be admired outside the bank.

ABN AMRO receives a large number of loan requests from leading museums and other institutes, both locally and internationally.

Between 2003 and 2005, selected items from the ABN AMRO collection were included in a touring exhibition entitled the Past of the Present, and were shown alongside works from the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. The tour consisted of six exhibitions that were held in St Petersburg, Shanghai, Singapore, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Chicago.

The opening of a new building at the Grand Rapids Art Museum in Michigan was celebrated in October 2007 with a three-month long exhibition containing 35 highlights from the ABN AMRO collection.
