Pierson Heldring Pierson
Jan Lodewijk Pierson was, besides a banker, also the author of several literary and historical works. He was also the founder of the Historical-Archaeological Institute at the University of Amsterdam, which was named the Allard Pierson Foundation after his father. Oil painting by Jan Veth from 1922.
Opened in 1989, the bank building at Rokin 55 in Amsterdam has housed the offices of Pierson, Heldring & Pierson, MeesPierson and Fortis.
Boissevain & Co., as of 1917 called Pierson & Co., was very active in the Netherlands issuing loans for American railroads. This involvement was greatly appreciated as seen from the naming of the Pierson Station on the Canadian Pacific Railway.
