Marten Mees was a business partner of R. Mees & Sons for over fifty years (1859-1909). For the company, he was of paramount importance in these years. As well, the Rotterdam and Dutch business community, as a whole, is indebted to him for his years of service.

The Rotterdam office of Bank Mees & Hope has been located on Coolsingel 93 since 1971. The building was expanded in 1993.
