Corporate Social Responsibility
Our social sponsorship focuses mainly on young people (‘Generation Next’), through three main themes:
Encouraging enterprise
Encouraging enterprise. We pursue this goal by supporting valuable initiatives including:
Dance4Life, which involves young people in the Netherlands in actively promoting HIV/AIDS prevention by conceiving and organising fund-raising campaigns.
The International Children’s Peace Prize, an annual award given to a youngster who has shown special commitment to children’s rights, anywhere in the world.
KidsinBizz (Stichting Jong Ondernemen), which helps young people in the Netherlands develop entrepreneurial abilities.
Promoting young people’s development and education
Promoting young people’s development and education. Reading is a key priority within this theme, and we now sponsor Children’s Book Week, National Read Aloud Days and the Dutch Children’s Jury.

Many of our employees also provide financial education for young people via a programme specially developed by the ABN AMRO Foundation called ‘Be a Hero with Your Money’ (Word een Held met je Geld).
Sports for young people
Sports for young people. Sport is a powerful way of motivating young people to pursue excellence and overcome challenges. We’re proud to sponsor several organisations and initiatives that give access to sports to disadvantaged children. These include:
The Youth Sports Fund, which helps young people pay their club fees or buy the sports gear they need.
Laureus Nederland, which uses the power of sport to tackle a range of social problems affecting young people; and
The Disabled Sports Fund, in which we are a ‘FairShare Partner’.
