Procurement is ABN AMRO´s central purchasing department and the key point of contact for new suppliers of products and services to the bank.
Procurement leads the supplier selection process, negotiations and contracting. We make sure the process is carried out transparently and with integrity, and that social responsibility and sustainability is embedded in all our procurement processes. This is something we ask from ourselves, as well as from our suppliers through certification. Our business relationships with suppliers are based on mutual respect, collaboration and professionalism.

To ensure that procurement is done sustainably and responsibly, we:
Disseminate and implement the ABN AMRO procurement principles and purchasing terms and conditions.
Selects suppliers on the basis of/and or provides guidance through its sustainability rating and verification process. A co-founder and user of independent assessor of corporate social responsibility FIRA, ABN AMRO makes sure that suppliers meet the high sustainability criteria we expect of them.

Joining Ariba Discovery opens the door to a global community of more than 15.000 buyers. When the bank moves to tender a product or service, it uses Ariba Discovery as one of the options to select qualifying suppliers. Companies meeting the criteria will be invited to submit a tender and all companies invited will be able to offer their products and services through a transparent process.
