If you work at Large Corporates & Merchant Banking, you’ll offer clients innovative and solid financial solutions in an ambitious, international growth-driven environment. You’ll act as a strategic partner for the industry and company leaders, where the stakes – and expectations – are high.

Our training pool offers you an excellent start at Large Corporates & Merchant Banking. You’ll experience a wide variety of aspects of the business and will be educated to be an all-round merchant banker in two-and-a-half years. The first fifteen months you will also participate in the Next Generation Professionals programme.

Next Generation Professionals, the ABN AMRO traineeship

Every person is unique. With this in mind, ABN AMRO has developed the Next Generation Professionals trainee programme. It’s with good reason that this programme has been named Best Traineeship of 2011 – the traineeship offers excellent opportunities to ambitious young professionals. Large Corporates & Merchant Banking offers three focus areas. You decide which area suits you best.

Corporate Finance

At Corporate Finance you’ll be working on numerous transactions, assisting in complex international acquisitions, divestments and capital market transactions. You’ll prepare presentations, build models and help assess strategies and business plans. The diversity of activities, demanding workload and high-level responsibility at an early stage guarantee a steep learning curve.

Energy, Commodities & Transportation

From day one, you’ll work with a Relationship Manager in the various sectors of Energy, Commodities & Transportation, acquiring thorough knowledge of international businesses and markets in this industry. ABN AMRO is a world leader in this sector, as you’ll discover in the challenges presented by this programme. You’ll help draw up sector-specific reports, produce financial analyses, write credit proposals and prepare and participate in client meetings.

Debt Solutions

At Debt Solutions, you’ll be trained as a specialist in structured corporate credits and will participate in the entire process of winning, executing and closing a deal. You’ll help assess financing strategies and business plans of large corporates, prepare financial analyses, write credit proposals and draw up complex models to design tailor-made financing structures.
