Remy Jungerman

Computer and phone cords, ISDN and network cords: discarded cords that once made communication possible. Held together in thick bundles with tie-wraps, they form a trunk and branches that extend in all directions in order to connect. But with what? The world communicates to no end, but has that communication actually brought us closer together? The artist Remy Jungerman wonders. This tree not only symbolizes nature and connection, but also seeming proximity and distance. Communication and globalization are recurrent themes throughout Jungerman's work, in which he makes frequent use of waste material.
