The dream team for our social partners
ABN AMRO supports its social partners in a range of different ways. Every year, ABN AMRO Foundation has three different teams get together with a social organisation to buckle down to a challenging strategic issue that the organisation is unable to address itself due to lack of time, knowledge or experience.
These three multidisciplinary ‘dream teams’ are made up of ambitious and socially involved young bankers from different disciplines within the bank – five banking talents supported by a member of senior management. Their mission is not to draw up a report but to work together with the social organisation to effect real change. Only Friends, Nederlands Dans Theater and Hermitage are a just a few of the social partners we’ve helped this way.

“My colleagues and I assisted Only Friends for a year as part of this project. What a great organisation! Dennis Gebbink has created a wonderful sports club for youngsters with special needs. And the club is broadening its base to include new target groups, such as the elderly and children suffering from obesity. The project taught me how relationships are key to robust cooperation: we really had to get to know each other. I’ve benefited a great deal from ‘design thinking’, the methodology we learned from our Kickstart trainers. Design thinking is all about embracing the problem before running off to find solutions – a very worthwhile approach within our own organisation, as well. At the end of the day, I feel really privileged to have contributed to the dream team project at Only Friends.”
