Football clinic at Ajax
Taking part in sports isn’t a matter of course for all children. Because they come from a deprived area, for instance, or have a mental or physical impairment. ABN AMRO Foundation believes it’s important that these children, too, be given opportunities to play and have fun on a sports field. And that’s why we work closely with Ajax in running football clinics.
ABN AMRO colleagues volunteer for a special Ajax training session, together with students with special needs. We serve as their football partners for a morning, playing and talking with the children. Everyone can do this, no football background required.

“I’ve run both the Football Kick-off and the ABN AMRO Integration Cup, G-sporting events for which we act as main partner. The Football Kick-off is a football tournament for G-teams that sees a total over 900 disabled players play each other. In the ABN AMRO Integration Cup hockey players and G-teams square up for the avidly sought-after champion’s title. We bring together a large group of volunteers to organise and facilitate these events. By doing something that feels so good for others we’ve created a great sense of commitment. And that doesn’t just mean more fun at initiatives like this – it spills right over into the way we work together at the office.”
