Supporting our clients’ transition to sustainability

Transitioning to a sustainable society together with our clients – that’s what we are working towards. That’s why we are making sustainability an integral part of our business. We offer specific expertise that we are embedding in our products and services.

Sustainability is a key element of ABN AMRO’s strategy. Our goal is to support our clients’ transition to sustainability. As a bank that is how we can make by far the greatest impact – by helping people make their homes, businesses or investments more sustainable. At the same time, of course, we’re also reducing our own footprint.

We focus on three themes: climate change, nature and social impact.

Climate change

Focus area
Greenhouse gas emissions such as CO2 are causing the earth’s temperature to rise. Climate action is needed. That’s why ABN AMRO is helping clients in areas like making their homes and businesses more sustainable.

Nature

Focus area
A planet with a wide variety of plants, animals, microorganisms and fungi is the fundamental basis for a stable climate, clean air and water, healthy soil and thriving nature. This in turn is crucial for human wellbeing and a stable economy. We work with our clients and suppliers so that we can protect nature better.

Social impact

Focus area
Social impact is about people, especially people in vulnerable situations, and begins with respect for human rights. Beyond that, we want to make a positive impact around financial inclusivity, financial resilience and equal opportunities. We want to tackle social challenges for and with our clients. And help build a society in which everyone can participate.
