You know how to study, but what about work experience? An internship at ABN AMRO will give you (and us, of course) a good idea of who you are. Your new colleagues will make sure you’ll experience what it’s like to work for a big, commercial organisation. You’ll find out what you’re good at and what type of work you most enjoy. There’s enough to do. The question is: what will you make of it?

Gain valuable work experience

ABN AMRO is rooted firmly in the community. You’ll find our head office in the Zuidas business district in Amsterdam, and our branches are scattered all over the Netherlands. We also accompany many people wherever they go, in the form of an app on their smartphone. There’s loads to do, so we’d love to use your help. That’s why we’re looking for enthusiastic, talented students who would like to gain some valuable work experience for four to six months. There are two ways to do this:

Work experience internship

If you’re in the third or fourth year of further or higher education (MBO, HBO or University), it’s high time to roll up your sleeves and get to work, whether it’s in the front office, back office or in the thick of the business. Whatever you end up doing and wherever you do it, you’ll be given responsibility right from day one.

Thesis project internship

If you’re attending a university of applied sciences (HBO) or a traditional university, you’ll find that ABN AMRO provides an interesting environment for completing your final-year research project. There’s a huge wealth of data on tap here at the bank. You’ll have the opportunity to gather valuable input from colleagues, customers and contacts.

Finding your feet

At ABN AMRO you’ll suddenly find yourself working for a large organisation, whether it’s in a busy back office or dealing with real customers in a branch. You’ll need to apply your textbook knowledge in a practical setting. And you’ll also learn what is not in the textbooks. Thanks to your  supervisor’s support and the help of your colleagues, you’ll quickly discover what sort of job suits you best.

How to apply

All of our internships are listed in our vacancy database. Applying couldn’t be easier: if you find an internship that suits you, just upload your resume and a motivation letter. We’ll contact you shortly.
