Your job

The cluster Lead Modelling Data is responsible collection of requirements, collecting of data linked to these requirements, building a Modelling data and Model development platform with an automated connection to the Model Run environment. The Cluster lead will also be responsible for representing Modelling data in various committees, Management Teams and change grids and towards regulators and other stakeholders. The cluster leader has the aim to educate and bring awareness about risk data within the organization and to actively promote risk modelling data inside and outside of the bank.

The Cluster Lead has a coaching role and is HR responsible for the modelling data pool (about 22-25 FTE). The Cluster Lead sets the boundaries of what is expected from the teams, coaches the team to realize their operational deliveries, is pro-actively involved if boundaries are tested and coaches the teams to optimize their activities (qualitative and quantitative). The Cluster Lead Modelling data is responsible for managing the implementation and usage of the ABN AMRO Data capability framework. This means the lead needs to take care of using the right process (e.g. data owner and data user concept) for data (requirements) gathering and DQ issue management.

Key Result Area’s:

  • Collectively responsible for vision, strategy and execution of the Risk Data & Modelling Grid year plan and multiyear/midterm planning;
  • Analyses relevant data insights and determines the plan of approach on the field of Modelling data;
  • Safeguards compliance on Risk data according to existing and future rules and regulations by developing and maintaining compliant framework of data, controls, processes and procedures;
  • Contributes to relevant projects/programmes within the ABN AMRO organisation;
  • Knows the environment and knows and understands the needs/requirements of the various stakeholders (internally & externally);
  • Creates an environment where specialists meet, cooperate and learn from each other;
  • Stimulates personal and professional development and encouraging rotating across risk types.
Your working environment

Modellind data is part of the Risk Data & Modelling grid which is part of the Risk Data & Analytics (RDA) department, and plays an active role for all the Risk departments. We employ 80-100 staff, all of whom share a passion for getting the most out of risk data. Our aim is to generate reliable risk data in good time. We do this by improving the risk data itself, data systems and data processes.

Your profile


  • Academic master’s degree or PhD;
  • Languages: English fluent.


  • Mathematical/ statistical/ financial education;
  • > 10 years of experience in a financial environment of which > 5 years in a quantitative environment and at least 5 years in a senior or managerial role;
  • Strong personality with respect to interaction with internal stakeholders, regulators and other external stakeholders;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Proven ability to perform in a multi-cultural environment and team player;
  • Strong personality to achieve the behavioural and cultural change within a multi-cultural quantitative environment;
  • Agile Knowledge or experience is preferred.
