Being a global 24x7 business, English is the primary language. Since April 2011, ABN AMRO Clearing has been designated as a specialised business within ABN AMRO and has held its own banking license since 2004 (ABN AMRO Clearing Bank NV). ABN AMRO Clearing has roughly 800 FTE globally and is self-sufficient and has its own supporting organization. ABN AMRO Clearing Commerce has a global focus and is divided into three regional organizations: Region Europe, Region USA and Region Asia-Pacific. The AAC Commerce department has to ensure the ability of ABN AMRO Clearing to continuously expands its products and services portfolio, its markets and its markets shares and to enhance competitiveness of the global, regional and local organization and companies. The Sales Director creates relationships with and sells AAC services to prospects in order to create a regional profitable market position delivering clearing and clearing related services in new and existing markets.

Your job

The Sales Director creates relations with and sells AAC services to relevant prospects (Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Financial Institutions, Banks, ...) in order to create a regional profitable market position delivering clearing and clearing related services in new and existing markets. Market InformationCreates a clear picture of the market of a designated area. Analyses developments in the industry with possible impact on the business of prospects and the services of AAC. Identifies key players and understands decision structures in the industry and at prospects organizations. Analyses how market developments affect the strategy of customers, prospects, suppliers and competitors. Sales PlanningChooses sales objectives, budgets sales results and creates commitment about the targets. Develops a sales strategy and planning, achieving the objectives. Consults with colleagues on planning and activities and aligns a team with relevant skills to enhance the capacity of turning prospects into client. Monitors and reports about results. Relation NetworkUnderstands the network of (key) players in the industry and creates access to these networks. Represents AAC and creates relationships and trust as a person and for AAC being a solid competitive business partner. Makes the network valuable and transferable to colleagues within AAC. Records relationship data in the CMS. Proposals (RFP's)Analyses prospects situation and business needs formulated in meetings and/or RFP's (requests for proposals). Formulates solutions with AAC services meeting the demands. Sets a quotation together using fee guidelines. Provides explanations and / or presentations on the proposals. Orders / Contracts
Develops a negotiation plan for commitment about contracts. Decides which AAC colleges should be involved (relationships management, legal, sales colleagues). Directs the negotiation process and/or creates agreements about conditions. Ensures that agreed conditions are properly formulated and that contracts are authorized. Advice Relationship managementWill introduces the relationship manager to new customers and informs them about all relevant aspects of customers' business. Actively supports the on boarding process until the account is live and intervenes when necessary to promote finalisation of the process. Advises relationship managers about customer approach and supports in developing new opportunities for expanding the services.

  • Corporate and Institutional Banking – which includes  Corporate Banking, Clearing Global Markets - Sales & Trading, Escrow & Settlement, and Financial Institutions

Your profile

  • Knowledge of business economics, and commerce at a masters level or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience.
  • Knowledge of the dynamics and characteristics of the regional financial markets, the key players and the trade products & services
  • Knowledge of clearing processes of AAC of all financial assets classes (i.e. Derivatives, Securities, Fixed Income)
  • Financial services knowledge – ideally including Direct Market Access and / or Clearing
  • Network management experience
  • Budget Management
  • Personal interest in financial markets
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Competencies to include strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.  An analytical, problem solving mind-set and a creative way of thinking.  Revenue orientated with a positive mental attitude.  An eye for numeracy, speed and attention to detail.  Professionalism, both personally and the ability to encourage professionalism of the team
