The Securities Finance department is responsible for securities borrowing and lending on behalf of clients and AAC. As a Securities Finance Trader, you will be responsible for facilitating this function on behalf of our clients to ensure coverage for settlement.


This job entails working closely with internal/external clients and bank/central counterparties. External clients include those active on the Asia Pacific markets e.g. professional traders, market makers, banks, brokers and hedge funds. Internal clients include subsidiaries, colleagues in the clearing/ settlement departments and finance department.


As our client base and market share grow and change we have seen the need to automate many processes and make our roles more efficient.  As such, interest and/or experience with machine learning and coding, while not necessary, will be highly regarded to assist our team to build for the future.





  1. Trading at Securities Finance desk
  • Execute securities borrowing and lending deals with clients and counterparties that are within trading mandates.
  • Accurate forecasting and timely management of internal securities pool, external borrows, fees and interest, and corporate actions.
  • Assist in managing street-side relationships.
  • Work with Relationship Managers to provide pricing to potential clients.
  • Work closely with regional Operations teams to ensure settlement of stocks.
  • Collateral management and optimization; ensure cash and non-cash collateral is delivered in the most efficient manner.
  • Manage corporate actions events including dividends and other events.
  • Act within the applicable policies and regulatory boundaries at all times.
  • Analysis and reporting of P&L


  1. Other responsibilities
  • Identify and implement changes to improve processes to achieve higher accuracy, efficiency, quality and profitability.
  • Complete on-boarding of Securities Finance clients.
  • Participate in global and regional Securities Finance projects.





Required level and content of education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is required
  • Experience in Financial Markets
  • CMFAS Module 1A, 6 and 6A (for dealing in Securities)

Required employment experience

  • Experience in dealing in Securities Finance is a strong benefit.
  • Knowledge about equity, ETF, futures and options is a strong benefit.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of IT development and coding will be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of corporate actions is a benefit.
  • Experience in custody, clearing and/or global markets is a benefit.
  • Knowledge about collateral management is a benefit.
  • Good understanding of Excel (VBA) is a benefit.
