I work in a department where everyone is passionate about their sector and it’s all about knowledge. That’s very inspiring.
After my Master’s at Nyenrode, I looked for a challenging place to work. I found it at ABN AMRO. I began with a traineeship and then started work as a Sector Analyst at Sector Advisory, where I’ve now been working for over a year. I specialise in three sectors: Construction, Transport & Logistics, and Industry. It’s a fascinating department, where I can develop both my specialist and my business knowledge.
Extremely varied! I did a whole range of projects during my traineeship, from Private Banking in Curaçao to Commodities in Amsterdam. I was able to develop across a range of areas and got to know the bank well. Each project was different from the last: I set off on a new adventure every two or three months and met lots of great people. It was a huge challenge.
I’m a big Formula 1 fan. I’ve been following the championship for a few years now. My favourite team is Lotus, and my favourite driver is Kimi Räikkönen. The races are particularly exciting this year, as there are so many title contenders.
I spend most of my time preparing meetings and doing strategic market analyses for our customers. Before we visit a customer to discuss the sector, we try to learn as much about them as possible and to understand their business. We then produce a tailored analysis in the form of a presentation or pitch book. I work for three different sectors, so I deal with all kinds of companies. They’re all different, and it’s precisely those differences that teach you so much. We can then use that knowledge to help our customers. I work in a department where everyone is passionate about their sector and it’s all about knowledge. That’s very inspiring.
