I am at my best when I have a good work-life balance!
My girlfriend and I live in Zwolle. I studied International Hospitality Management in Leeuwarden, an eduction which gave me a good foundation on which to build at ABN AMRO, as the emphasis was on service provision. As an Account Manager, I spend my day talking to customers. That gives me the energy I want from my work.
I’ve been working for ABN AMRO for three years. First as a Trainee, then as a Preferred Banker, and I’ll shortly be joining the Advice and Service Centre as a Campaign and Sales Manager. I’m also in the Management Development Pool, which helps me build my network inside the bank and map out my career.
The balance between work, sport and leisure is very important to me. Travel is my greatest passion. Six months studying in South Africa and a year as an intern in the United States left me wanting more, and I’ve also travelled in Asia with my girlfriend. My experiences abroad have really helped shape me and have given me a sense of perspective. Playing music gives me a lot of energy too. It helps me to step back from my job and work off the stress. I’m at my best when everything is in balance.
I visit customers a lot. I get a better picture of them at home or in their workplace, and that helps me advise them more effectively. I’m also working on various regional projects, such as implementing the New World of Work and distance coaching. No two weeks are the same for me and I also schedule enough time for my individual development.
