In another important step toward greater visibility and progress for Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender (LGBT) in the workplace, Mr. Gerrit Zalm, CEO of ABN AMRO signed the Declaration of Amsterdam today at the company’s global headquarters in Amsterdam.
"By signing the Declaration of Amsterdam, ABN AMRO demonstrates its continuing efforts to create a diverse and inclusive workplace for all its employees. We want everyone to be themselves at work and this is our public commitment to make that happen for the LGBT community ", said Zalm.
Also signing the Declaration was Price Waterhouse Coopers, Netherlands, represented by Mr André Mikkers, Human Capital Board.
The Declaration of Amsterdam was initiated by the Workplace Pride Foundation, the international platform for LGBT inclusion at work. It’s a call to action consisting of 10 points that help ensure improvement in the workplace for LGBT people. Signers of the Declaration include 15 top Dutch and international employers from both the private and public sectors.
