Singapore, 13 June 2013 – INSEAD, the leading international business school, is proud to announce that 500 Private Banking relationship managers from ABN AMRO have now completed the ABN AMRO Private Banking ‘Trusted Advisor’ Certification Programme, delivered in partnership with INSEAD since 2010.
The ‘Trusted Adviser’ programme develops participants’ understanding of both industry trends and the human dimension of client relations while enhancing competency in the financial aspects of private banking. As a result of these unique and sought-after benefits, a further 100 ABN AMRO Private Banking relationship managers from across the world are expected to have completed the training by the end of 2013, through modules delivered at INSEAD’s Singapore and Fontainebleau campuses.
“Private Banking is at the core of ABN AMRO’s strategy. It is a business with €165 billion in assets under management and 4,000 people serving our clients, mainly in Asia and Europe,” said Hein Van der Loo, Programme Director on behalf of ABN AMRO. “We worked with INSEAD to create a programme for all our Private Banking relationship managers to enhance their knowledge of the private banking industry, risk management, asset allocation and investment products. Importantly, we were also able to add elements in client engagement and communication that help relationship managers build greater trust amongst their client base.”
The programme was developed through INSEAD’s Executive Education offering, which seeks to address the career development of high potential individuals and senior executives through programmes specifically customised for individual business requirements and unique organisational change situations. With content for the course being developed collaboratively by both ABN AMRO and the School, the programme is open to ongoing revision and involves case studies based on relevant client examples.
“The programme isn’t based purely on theory, so we work with INSEAD to encourage participants to come forward with actual client situations for discussion and learning purposes. The professors push participants to develop context through various case studies and input from previous experiences in the workplace. In this way, we are nurturing a highly qualified banking talent pool attuned to regional nuances within all our markets of operations,” Mr. Van der Loo continued.
INSEAD has experienced a rising demand from global businesses such as ABN AMRO for customised solutions that are tailored to meet the unique challenges and opportunities they face. More broadly, across all market sectors during 2011-12, the School recorded an increase in global demand for its Executive Education Programmes spanning the Asian and European campuses. The programmes address a variety of areas, from leadership development to strategy and innovation and look to leverage the in-depth industry knowledge of faculty. Through the use of virtual technology, organisations across different industries benefit from courses that address the specific challenges faced by their executives worldwide.
Speaking on the ABN AMRO Private Banking programme, Mark Roberts, Assistant Dean, Executive Development Programmes at INSEAD, said, “We are delighted to have the chance to work with ABN AMRO Private Banking to develop and strengthen its offering through our Executive Education programme. As with all our customised programmes, the course was developed around the unique issues faced by executives within the organisation, implementing strategies that will help them respond in a way that will positively contribute to the growth of the business.”
