Two events were held on 11 December at which M&A prizes were awarded: one in London (Mergermarket) and one in Amsterdam (Alex van Groningen). ABN AMRO scooped up prizes at both of these events.
Mergermarket named ABN AMRO ‘Financial Advisor of the Year for Benelux’ for the second year in a row. ‘ABN AMRO played an important role in the sale of Nideria to COFCO and also advised Ziggo on the acquisition by Liberty Global,’ according to M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) news service.
The Ziggo-Liberty Global deal was selected as the best M&A deal of the year in Amsterdam. ABN AMRO advised and financed this 10 billion-euro transaction. In addition, Hugo Peek (Best M&A Advisor) and Jorn van Etten (Best M&A Advisor Mid Market) picked up prizes in the Beurs van Berlage yesterday. And lastly, the Flamco Aalberts deal, arranged by ABN A, was named Best Midmarket Deal of 2014.
Hugo Peek, Director of Large Corporate and responsible for ABN AMRO’s M&A activities: ‘These awards are great recognition of our expertise and performances in 2014. We look forward confidently to 2015 and will work hard to further expand our M&A service.’
