The Dutch flower trade occupies an important position worldwide. These companies offer a product range that combines width and depth with excellent quality. The export market is of vital importance to the sector.

The export of potted plants showed an upward trend during the first six months of 2014. Important contributing factors were the favourable weather conditions in Europe and signs of economic recovery on the principal sales markets.

On the domestic market the trade again experienced difficulties during H1, causing prices to come under pressure. Nevertheless, we believe that the sector shows promise for the longer term. What are the possibilities for business owners in the sector?
