ABN AMRO Equity Capital Markets (ECM) advises and supports companies that perform equity transactions on the capital market. Its services include leading stock market flotations and assisting with share issues. ABN AMRO is a leading player in this area in the Benelux region; last year, the bank was involved in the majority of all ECM transactions.

Companies are expected to continue conducting transactions on the capital market in the near future. To build on its leading position, ABN AMRO expanded its ECM team this past summer by hiring three experienced Dutch bankers who previously worked outside the Netherlands.

Paul Huysmans comes to ABN AMRO from Deutsche Bank in London and will co-head the ECM team with Maarten Blomme. Paul has acquired more than 17 years' experience in ECM at both Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse.

Arthur van Dijk, who also has 17 years' experience in ECM, is the new executive director of the ECM team. Arthur joins ABN AMRO from Macquarie Capital in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he worked for Morgan Stanley in London and Asia.

Julie Wakkie joined ABN AMRO this past summer as head of the ECM Syndicate team. Julie brings to the bank over 12 years of experience in ECM and previously worked for Unicredit in London.

Maarten Blomme, co-head of the ECM team: "It's great to see that these experienced Dutch bankers have come to ABN AMRO in Amsterdam from abroad. It shows that our leading role in Equity Capital Markets makes us an attractive team to work for, and it supports ABN AMRO's ambition to pursue further growth in this field."
