ABN AMRO targets EUR 2.5bn green bond holdings in its liquidity portfolio by 2022

News item -

ABN AMRO commits to increasing green investments in its liquidity portfolio to EUR 1b by the end of 2020 and up to EUR 2.5b by the end of 2022. This statement underpins ABN AMRO’s strategy to support the transition to sustainability.

Targeted investments are bonds for which the use of proceeds are aligned with the Green Bond Principles and which are in line with EBA's Delegated Act HQLA criteria, therefore preserving the high quality and liquidity of the portfolio. By actively investing in the Euro-denominated green bond market, ABN AMRO aims to  support  the growth of this market.  ABN AMRO will report on the amounts of green bonds held in the liquidity portfolio at Q4 and Q2 results.
