‘Christmas angels’ bring joy and a Christmas tree to thousands of senior citizens

Christmas angel

Three thousand senior citizens in the Netherlands who will spend the holidays on their own will receive a little emotional support in the coming week. They will receive a Christmas tree from ABN AMRO, which they will set up together with a volunteer from the bank. ‘Christmas angels’ is an annual initiative of ABN AMRO Foundation. Never before have so many senior citizens received a Christmas tree from ABN AMRO in the run-up to the holidays.

Hundreds of volunteers from ABN AMRO will visit senior citizens across the Netherlands from 15 to 19 December. Ernst Boekhorst, Director of ABN AMRO Foundation: ‘The holiday season can be a difficult time for more than 200,000 senior citizens, many of whom will spend Christmas on their own. We hope the ‘Christmas angel’ campaign will make the holidays a more festive time for these people.’
