ABN AMRO is launching a new app today for the Apple Watch and iPhone. The ‘Alert & Check’ app enables clients to receive free push alerts. They can choose to be notified, for instance, when their salary has been paid in or if their balance falls below a particular level.
ABN AMRO is beginning a six-month trial today to offer customer service via WhatsApp. The bank will offer a randomly selected group of clients the opportunity to ask questions and share comments via the familiar and easy to use WhatsApp platform. ABN AMRO wants to determine whether this type of service meets its clients’ wishes. If the trial is successful, the bank will launch the new service to all its account-holders.
ABN AMRO has become the first Dutch bank to launch a Broker App. The new app allows the bank’s brokerage partners to inform their clients better and provide accurate mortgage information more quickly. Brokers can use the app to directly view the current status of mortgage files, interest rates, the latest news or commercial earnings with the corresponding benchmarks. The app is available for Android and iOS.
The Extel Survey has named ABN AMRO the leading overall Benelux brokerage firm 2015. The annual survey results are based on responses from 18,000 investment professionals worldwide representing more than 2,600 buy-side firms. This year, ABN AMRO came in first, up from third position last year.
Starting 1 June 2015, it will be easier for new and existing clients of ABN AMRO and Florius to add residual debt they had financed with a consumer loan (for example, a standing credit) to a new mortgage. Existing clients can achieve the same by topping up their current mortgage.
By the end of this year, all retail customers with ABN AMRO payment accounts will be able to pay with contactless cards. At present, 2.3 million cards have already been replaced and another 2.4 million will follow before the end of the year. ABN AMRO is issuing the new cards as from today.
Arctic Blue Capital won ‘The AIF Factor’ competition at the 4th Amsterdam Investor Forum organised by ABN AMRO Clearing. The fund, a commodity trading advisor (CTA), was voted the clear winner out of six shortlisted alternative investment funds which made three-minute ‘elevator pitches’ to over 250 delegates, comprising institutional investors, funds of funds, high net worth individuals and a panel of four leading alternative-investment managers from the ‘Just don’t call me a fund of hedge funds panel’.
ABN AMRO returned all outstanding balances on customers’ chipknips this past weekend. A total of 26 million euros was automatically repaid to 3.5 million holders of prepaid payment cards.
