ABN AMRO is going to use EUR 250 million of funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to provide loans and leases to Dutch businesses. This is the fourth time that the EIB and ABN AMRO are teaming up to create opportunities for Dutch companies to borrow money at attractive interest rate conditions.

As per 1 January 2017, the standard method for ABN AMRO’s Dutch SME clients to communicate their financial data to the bank will be the digital SBR (Standaard Bedrijfsrapportages) method used by the Dutch tax authorities. ABN AMRO is encouraging entrepreneurs to start using SBR in 2016.
A group of nine insurance companies will be extending credit to small and medium-sized busi-nesses (SMEs) through ABN AMRO. The parties involved are presenting a new partnership today, linking the investment capital available at insurance companies to the demand for credit among SMEs. ABN AMRO will play an intermediary role by arranging the credit facilities and managing risks.
Today the FD published an article about banks advising on interest-rate swaps. The article implies that in the past ABN AMRO incorrectly advised SMEs on swaps and that the SMEs have been left holding the baby: "SME’s have the mill stone of Interest rate swaps’ round their necks".
