Our defence sector policy recognises the right of democratic countries to procure means for self-defence. This policy sets clear restrictions on our engagement with the defence sector. ABN AMRO only engages in business relations when we are convinced the client’s business ethics meet our standards.
ABN AMRO's defence sector policy acknowledges national and international conventions and agreements regarding arms trade, including the European Union Code of Conduct on Arms Export. In the Netherlands, we ended all our investment services involving companies related to cluster weapons, anti-personnel weapons and biological and chemical weapons in April 2014.
