  • Oversee month-end GAAP accounting processes, including financial review and analysis, preparing account reconciliations and accruals and overall maintenance of the Company's accounting records
  • Responsible for overseeing futures and equities financial regulatory reporting: including monthly FOCUS report, daily capital computation, daily segregation and secured reporting, weekly customer reserve and PAB computations
  • Maintain financial regulatory reporting calendar and ensure all required internal and external reporting deadlines are met
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by investigating account information and taking ownership to confirm financial reconciliations assigned to others are timely and accurate
  • Work closely with other departments to assess downstream impact of their processes on the financial and regulatory reporting, including investigating fluctuations in daily reporting
  • Ensure that open items are resolved in a timely manner and have strong balance sheet account knowledge to assess discrepancies and causes
  • Drive process documentation and enhancement reviews including writing, reviewing and maintaining relevant standard operating procedures
  • Coordinate with tax consultants regarding annual federal and state tax returns for the partnership as well as the US corporate returns for parent company, including calculating quarterly estimated tax payment provisions
  • Lead annual financial, regulatory and internal audit processes entailing coordinating with the auditors, and preparing lead schedules analytics and footnotes for consolidated financial statements
  • Maintain and validate accuracy and mapping of financial data imported from back office subsystems and investigate breaks
  • Lead accounting team members by providing subject matter expertise, coordinating special projects, cross training and other areas as needed

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP requirements and broker-dealer public auditing experience preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial services industry, at least 5 years at big 4 accounting firm
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP experience a plus
  • Basic understanding of regulatory rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of 17a-5 compliance requirements and broker-dealer auditing experience preferred
  • Series 27 a plus
