The purpose of this position is to lead and further build the data & analytics team of Financial Restructuring & Recovery, including the development and implementation of a strategy regarding data driven restructuring and recovery, the MI, reporting and modelling requirements and ensuring that FR&R fully aligns with the data management developments within ABN AMRO Bank. Ultimate goal of FR&R is to restore the financial and strategic health of our clients and to minimize ABN AMRO’s losses and capital costs, and a data driven restructuring and recovery strategy should facilitate reaching that goal.

Your job

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Lead and contribute to the FR&R data & analytics team (approx. 10 FTE). Drive a data & analytical mindset and competence within the entire FR&R organization, therewith stimulating a data driven approach to financial restructuring and recovery activities
  • Define and implement a FR&R vision and strategy for FR&R data, systems and analytics that supports a data driven restructuring & recovery practice (all in compliancy with regulatory requirements). This includes, where need be, the development of business cases for data related projects and preparation of QPRs
  • Responsible for FR&R data engineering/platform/databases and other elements in the data architecture. Responsible for full alignment in this respect with ABN AMRO technical standards and future landscape
  • Strengthen FR&R’s data quality framework and systems for data aggregation, reporting and modelling aligned with Risk and Finance 
  • Embed ABN AMRO’s standards regarding a.o. data ownership and data usership within FR&R
  • Further strengthen FR&R’s analytical capabilities re portfolio management and assessment of FR&R instruments and techniques. This includes ongoing improvements in the business intelligence tooling & creating and sharing business intelligence assessments and reports 
  • Stakeholder management and cooperation with a significant number of different stakeholders outside FR&R in order to attract relevant (technical) expertise and create commitment to co-create and/or contribute to FR&R’s data strategy. Stakeholders include data offices in Business Lines, the Risk Data & Analytics team within Risk, Credit Risk as risk type owner, various grids, Finance, Strategic Risk, etc 
  • Respond to strategic and ad-hoc requests from risk executives to improve/develop FR&R Data and Portfolio insights
  • Maintain relationship with regulator and auditor when required
Your working environment

You are responsible for the data & analytics team in FR&R, and will cooperate intensively with many other stakeholders both within and outside FR&R. The data analytics team is responsible for FR&R’s data management, business intelligence tooling and portfolio analytics that help steer the business. You report to the head of Financial Restructuring & Recovery, and you are part of the MT FR&R. The FR&R department consists of approx. 165 enthusiastic professionals with a strong client drive and hands on mentality. 

Your profile

Qualification & skills

  • Master of Business Administration or comparable degree in data/IT related field of study
  • Minimal 10 years of relevant financial services experience, of which at least 3 years of experience in managing specialist teams and/or Data driven transformation/business intelligence programs


Technical skills

  • Experience with data analytics and implementation of various techniques and approaches
  • Experience in the design and implementation of data strategies, frameworks and infrastructures
  • Solid understanding of the relevant regulatory (data) requirements and their impact on the Bank


Experience

  • Solid experience with project management & change management, including experience with Agile way of working and the SCRUM method
  • Solid experience with designing and applying data frameworks/models and business intelligence tooling
  • Solid experience with Data management and business analytics/intelligence
  • Familiar with the data concepts and strategy of ABN AMRO
  • Knowledge of and experience with implementing data driven ways of working in a financial, regulated environment
