You will be responsible for providing research on government bonds and swap markets to investors.You produce fixed income research for investors that are clients of the Global Markets business. You will need to assess the factors driving government bond and swap markets, formulate an outlook for the future and assess how investors should position. You will also work with other strategists and economists in the team to a build a comprehensive view of the impact on fixed income markets. You publish your views and opinions on a regular basis. Your research will be thought-provoking and add-value to investors in a very competitive market place. Your client focus is exceptional. 

Your working environment

You will be part of the Financial Markets Research team that operates from the dealing room in Amsterdam. The group consists of nine team members and a team leader. The Financial Markets Research team, which is part of Group Economics, is building its research capacity. Our footprint is growing quickly within ABN AMRO as well as outside the bank. Fixed income coverage is focused on covered bonds, financials (banks), non-financials, government bonds, swaps and regulations that impact pension funds and insurers and their hedging behaviour. You will closely cooperate with the Fixed Income Sales team as well as the trading desk. Visits to investors are a crucial part of the job as well as media exposure.

Your profile

You are a professional with a strong drive to deliver quality. You possess excellent analytical and persuasive skills. You must be resourceful and possess a creative and entrepreneurial spirit.

- Relevant Master degree (in Economics, Finance or another mathematical degree)
- A least 10 years with a financial institution as a specialist in government bond and swap markets -Concrete research and/or client facing experience are a big plus
- Thorough understanding of government bond markets and swap markets
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Be proficient with Word, Excel and Bloomberg
- Team player
- Be prepared to travel to visit clients
