Are you interested in the strategy of the bank? But also risk management? You don’t have to choose! At Strategic Risk you will help define bank-wide strategic risk management.

Strategic Risk is responsible for the strategic risk profile of the bank. With our expertise we safeguard the long term strategy of the bank and we optimize the balance between risk and reward. Also think of (future) rules and regulations to enable steering, monitoring and decision making. In addition to our Chief Risk Officer, we advise amongst others the Executive Board, the Supervisory Board and the Group Risk Committee. Our main stakeholders outside the bank are our national and European banking authorities (DNB/ECB/SRB).

Your job

Banking is the business of taking risks. However, which risks are acceptable and which are not? In a continuously changing environment this assessment is done on a daily basis. Strategic risk management means identifying risks, assessing them and addressing them with concrete measures. Each step requires different skills. Do you possess them? Then we are looking for you!

Strategic Risk consists of a group of around 50 professionals that are involved with maintaining the strategic risk profile of the bank.

We deliver high quality product for our internal and external stakeholders and we provide advice to facilitate the decision making process.

As all the risks are centrally managed within Strategic Risk, we have a good overview of the total risk profile of the bank. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and work on one or several products. For this particular function the main focus will be on Recovery & Resolution Planning, however there is also room to gather experience on other Strategic Risk topics

You are a team player who is eager to learn and strives for quality. You are able to understand complex cases and can communicate the main points clearly. You are able to switch from a bird’s eye view to your eye for details, and you know when and how to ask for more information. Additionally, you have a good sense of humor.

  •                   University degree
  •                   3-5 years of work experience
  •                   Affinity with Risk, Finance or the (Banking) Business
  •                   You are entrepreneurial, proactive, thorough and you have a practical mindset
  •                   Quantitative and complex problems give you energy
  •                   You are flexible and able to work with deadlines
  •                   Preferably you have experience in project management and/or recovery & resolution planning.
