Greece

Greece

Greece is the largest shipping centre in the world with approximately 17% of the world fleet controlled by Greek shipowners. Despite the weak shipping markets across most sectors, and the general economic situation in Greece, Greek shipowners have managed to uphold their competitive advantage and maintain their leading position.
ABN AMRO’s international strategy is to grow in a limited number of specialised businesses in which we can claim a top position, amongst which the energy, commodities & transportation sector (ECT). In Greece, ABN AMRO is present with a Representative Office since June 2010 for the ECT/Transportation sector. Substantial business is generated from a number of different product groups, incl. Sales & Trading and Private Wealth Management. Our ambition is to continue our growth strategy and maintain our leading position in the Greek ship finance market.
