Chicago Slavery Era Disclosure Ordinance
LaSalle Bank Corporation released findings from an exhaustive study of its predecessors, which found no historical connections between LaSalle and African slavery in the United States and the Americas. Conducted independently by History Associates Incorporated (HAI), the study reviewed records from archives across Europe and elsewhere around the globe. LaSalle commissioned the study based on a City of Chicago ordinance requiring all entities that do business with the City to disclose all historic profits from or investments in African slavery.
