As demand for secured funding, balance sheet optimisation and centrally cleared liquidity continues to grow, ABN AMRO Clearing Bank (AACB) is the first bank to launch a standardised repo clearing access service. The solution opens a new gateway to the cleared repo market, making cleared liquidity more accessible to a broader range of financial institutions and removing operational complexities and technical barriers that have historically limited market participation.
In line with our purpose of leading the way to safe and transparent markets, this service demonstrates how innovation broadens access to cleared markets. The launch also supports ABN AMRO's strategy to further grow its Clearing franchise and sustain its position as a leading global top-three clearing provider. By expanding access to cleared markets, AACB continues to invest in innovative infrastructure and services that strengthen its global client franchise.
By collaborating with Eurex and Clearstream, ABN AMRO Clearing provides financial institutions with a powerful service to optimise liquidity management, enabling a broader range of market participants to borrow and lend cash more safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while lowering barriers to cleared market participation.
AACB provides financial institutions with direct access to Eurex’s large and liquid cleared repo market through a single integrated service covering trading, clearing and settlement. Acting as the central gateway, AACB removes the need for direct clearing membership or sponsored access, reducing administrative complexity and accelerating client onboarding. The service is designed for both European and international financial institutions seeking efficient access to euro-denominated cleared repo liquidity through a single operational framework. Eurex mitigates counterparty risk as the CCP, while Clearstream provides efficient and reliable settlement as the CSD.
AACB has a long-standing tradition of understanding clients' needs and turning market challenges into innovative solutions, reinforcing our commitment to helping clients succeed in an evolving financial landscape. This commitment is reflected in our support for Commonwealth Bank of Australia as it continues to develop its European markets capabilities.

“Connecting CBA (Europe) N.V. to Eurex through ABN AMRO Clearing Bank strengthens our ability to support clients participating in European markets, while expanding access to liquidity and market opportunities across the region.”
Alexander Jacobs – Head of OTC ABN AMRO Clearing Bank
“By making repo clearing available as a standardised service, we are lowering barriers to access secured liquidity and advanced collateral management, helping clients structure their balance sheets more efficiently. At the same time, this launch reflects our ambition to broaden access to cleared markets and further strengthen ABN AMRO Clearing's position as a leading global clearing provider."
