Chicago, IL, - As of Friday, May 29, ABN AMRO Clearing USA (AAC-USA) began offering its clients 24/7 clearing and risk management on eligible CME Group cryptocurrency futures and options, establishing a new standard for risk management and resilience in U.S. derivatives markets as trading expands toward continuous, around-the-clock activity.

The launch follows increasing industry momentum toward 24/7 markets, including Coinbase Derivatives Exchange’s introduction of 24/7 futures trading in 2025, highlighting growing demand for uninterrupted market access and risk coverage across global time zones.

AAC USA’s support for the 24/7-model addresses key challenges as markets move toward around-the-clock trading. Enhanced risk monitoring, combined with established margining processes, helps reduce the build-up of risk during inactive periods, while expanded coverage allows clients to trade and manage positions more easily across global time zones. As the industry continues to evolve, AAC USA’s infrastructure is designed to support future market advances. Overall, the “always-on” model is designed to help strengthen market resilience and support stability during periods of volatility outside traditional trading hours.

“AAC-USA is building infrastructure for where markets are going, not where they’ve been,” said Rutger Schellens, CEO ABN AMRO Clearing. “This includes working closely with regulators, market participants, and technology partners to ensure that a 24/7 model is implemented responsibly and sustainably.”
