Dutch Design Week
Every year, Dutch Design Week (DDW) presents unique ideas and insightful solutions from the Netherlands’ most innovative designers. It is held in Eindhoven, with the entire city getting involved for the duration. Our sponsorship began in 2009 with the Eindhoven Techno Desk, and ABN AMRO became the event’s main sponsor in 2011.
Over 1,500 designers exhibit their work, ranging from industrial, interior and graphic design, to textiles, fashion, architecture and sustainable design, and taking in design management and trends. Participants include established design firms, high-profile individual designers, talented newcomers and recently qualified designers. The exchange of knowledge and information helps forge lasting connections between the public, companies and designers. ABN AMRO sponsors the Dutch Design Week as part of its efforts to share its contacts and industry knowledge with established businesses and newcomers. In doing so, the bank strives to promote entrepreneurship and to help further develop the creative industries in the Netherlands.
Over 300 events at 65 different locations
There are more than 300 events to visit at 65 different locations: in addition to exhibitions, there are countless presentations, workshops, fashion shows and seminars. The exhibitions themselves are free of charge, unless stated otherwise. Design isn’t just nice to look at: it is an industry in its own right, worth billions of euros a year, in which the Netherlands occupies a leading role. Dutch design is famous throughout the world: you only have to think of Bugaboo, Senseo and Philips Ambilight TV to name just a tiny handful. ABN AMRO will be present during Dutch Design Week, together with the Dialogues House, at which seminars, workshops, networking events and tours will be organised.
As well as exhibitions, which are mostly free to visit, there are countless presentations, workshops, fashion shows and seminars. Of course, design isn’t just nice to look at: it’s an industry worth billions of euros a year, in which the Netherlands plays a leading role – just think of Bugaboo, Senseo and Philips Ambilight TV, to name just a tiny handful.
During Dutch Design Week, ABN AMRO organises a lively programme of seminars, workshops, networking events and tours in conjunction with Dialogues House, the bank’s unique platform for sharing of innovation and entrepreneurship.
