ABN AMRO has a special relationship with hockey. We’re the main sponsor of no fewer than seven top-flight hockey clubs and 40 local clubs, and top player and Olympic gold medallist Teun de Nooijer is one of ABN AMRO’s hockey ambassadors. Like his fellow ambassadors, Teun holds clinics and presentations, and attends as many of the activities sponsored by ABN AMRO as possible.

ABN AMRO has been part of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament at the Ahoy arena in Rotterdam since the very first contest in 1974. In 2011, we sponsored the WTT for an impressive 38th time – the longest sponsor relationship anywhere within the ATP Tour. The ABN AMRO World Wheelchair Tennis Tournament has been organised for the third time too, with multiple Paralympic gold medallist Esther Vergeer as its director.

ABN AMRO likes to support running as a sport because of its low threshold for participation, its health benefits and its sustainable and socially positive character. We concentrate in particular on national road running events, such as the ABN AMRO Marathon Rotterdam, CPC Loop Den Haag, Zevenheuvelenloop and Singelloop Utrecht.
