Exhibitions
As ABN AMRO’s art collection is intended primarily to adorn its employees’ working environment, most works are displayed in the bank’s major offices. Additionally, ABN AMRO is asked frequently to lend works to prestigious museums and other organisations in the Netherlands and elsewhere.
A number of works from ABN AMRO’s collection were included in the travelling exhibition “The Past of the Present”. The tour, organised by Amsterdam’s Stedelijk Museum between 2003 and 2005, consisted of six exhibitions in Saint Petersburg, Shanghai, Singapore, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Chicago.
Four years later, the opening of the new building of the Grand Rapids Art Museum in Michigan was celebrated with a three-month exhibition showing 35 highlights from the ABN AMRO collection. And in 2009, ABN AMRO paintings featured in a Cobra exhibition in Museum Kampa in Prague. This exhibition was organised by the Cobra Museum in Amstelveen and included eleven works from the museum and nine from the ABN AMRO collection.
