We are together. But you come first.

The merger between ABN AMRO and Fortis Bank Nederland is now complete. From today, we will work together under the name ABN AMRO. And we are pulling out all the stops to make the merger a success for all our customers.

How will this affect you?
If you previously banked with Fortis Bank Nederland, you will find that a number of very important things will stay exactly the same, such as your account number, your PIN and your bank card. If you already were a customer of ABN AMRO, our service will remain the same.

Banking with both banks
If you have accounts with both banks, please note that these will not be merged and that you will keep your current account numbers, bank cards and PINs until you hear from us personally. Under the Financial Supervision Act, your deposits and/or savings are governed by the Dutch deposit guarantee scheme and covered up to 100,000 euros per customer per bank. As Fortis Bank Nederland and ABN AMRO will continue as a single bank following the merger, this information might be relevant to those who have a Fortis Bank Nederland account alongside their ABN AMRO accounts. Joining branch offices
Fortis Bank Nederland customers stand to gain from the link-up of the Fortis Bank Nederland and ABN AMRO branch offices, whose numbers will swell from around 150 to over 500.

Separate service – for now
At the joint branch offices, Fortis Bank Nederland customers will still be served by their Fortis Bank contacts for the time being, and Fortis Bank Nederland bank statements will continue as-is until Fortis Bank Nederland customers officially become ABN AMRO customers. As an ABN AMRO customer, you can continue to take your business to any ABN AMRO branch office.
