ABN AMRO Bank NV today announces that it will end its activities in Curaçao and close the MeesPierson site at the end of this year.
It is ABN AMRO Private Banking's strategy to be a leading European private bank with growth ambitions in Asia. The activities in Curaçao no longer fit this strategy. In addition, the scale and growth opportunities of MeesPierson in Curaçao are too limited for ABN AMRO. MeesPierson in Curaçao has 43 employees. There is a social plan for employees. Private banking customers are offered the option of continuing to bank elsewhere at ABN AMRO.
