ABN AMRO Investment Solutions (AAIS), the France-based asset management company of ABN AMRO, is exploring a potential partnership to further strengthen its investment capabilities and support the delivery of high-quality, scalable investment solutions for clients across Europe. This initiative is consistent with ABN AMRO’s broader strategy to become a top-five private bank in Europe and reflects AAIS’s commitment to continuously enhancing its offering in an evolving market environment.

Positioning for long-term growth

The asset management industry is facing increasing pressure due to growing demand for passive investment solutions, expanding regulatory requirements, and rising technology and operational costs. At the same time, competition continues to intensify in an increasingly consolidating market. Therefore, a change in the operating model is necessary.

Under the contemplated partnership, the partner would provide specific open-architecture services and related client support, bringing extra expertise and capabilities to AAIS’s offering. AAIS would continue to manage its funds and fulfil its associated investment management, oversight, risk management and regulatory responsibilities. Together, these complementary roles would support service continuity and further strengthen the quality and resilience of the solutions delivered to clients.

Enhancing investment capabilities for clients

For clients, the changes will enhance the competitiveness and scalability of investment solutions with a continued access to a broad range of high-quality investment opportunities, greater efficiency in portfolio management and a stronger foundation for delivering long-term value in an evolving market environment.

The proposed plan may affect parts of the organisation and, at this stage, could result in the departure of approximately 40 employees. The exact implications for employees will be further defined over the coming period. Employees have already been informed of the plans.

The proposed change of the operating model remains subject to the applicable consultation, regulatory and other relevant procedures. Employees and other stakeholders, including clients, will be informed in due course at the appropriate stages of the process.
