ABN AMRO Maas Capital and YARD ENERGY sell wind farms to Eurus Energy

- Sustainability
On 12 October 2016 Maas Capital Renewables and YARD ENERGY sold two wind farms in Finland to Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation, a leading Japanese renewable energy firm. Maas Capital Renewables, part of ABN AMRO, provides equity finance to sustainable energy projects. The Dutch company YARD ENERGY develops, finances, builds and manages wind farms.
The two wind farms that Eurus has acquired (Kankaanpäänmäki and Mustaisneva) are located in central Finland and are the result of the first joint investment of Maas Capital Renewables and YARD ENERGY. Frederik Deutman, Managing Director of Maas Capital: ‘This transaction is a prime example of how we support Dutch partners in their international growth ambitions.’ The two wind farms generate a total of 27.5 MW of energy. The wind turbines were supplied by Lagerwey, a Dutch manufacturer with many years of experience in delivering highly reliable and sustainable wind turbines.
Kevin Dijkers, CEO of YARD ENERGY, on the sale: ‘We are confident that this new partnership with Eurus will lead to further growth and success in Finland and other European countries.’
With the acquisition of the two Finnish wind farms, Eurus is expanding its portfolio of global sustainable energy projects to ten countries. ‘We are pleased with these two excellent projects, as they give us access to the Finnish market, and we are exploring further opportunities in Finland as part of our strategy in Europe,’ says Hideyuki Inazumi, President and CEO of Eurus.
Collaboration between Maas Capital and YARD ENERGY
Maas Capital Renewables and YARD ENERGY joined forces in October 2014 to develop wind farms in Finland. YARD ENERGY manages the projects and operates the wind farms, while ABN AMRO, together with co-investor YARD ENERGY, structures the financing and provides flexible capital for the projects.
