Bank to buy all its electricity from Dutch wind farms.

All ABN AMRO branches and data centres will run on sustainably generated wind energy from Eneco during the coming year. In 2015 the bank will buy all its electricity, around 115 GWh, from Dutch windfarms. To meet part of its gas needs, the bank will switch to biogas produced in Dutch projects.

Johan van Hall, COO and member of the Managing Board of ABN AMRO, and Guido Dubbeld, CFO of Eneco, recently signed an agreement to this effect.

Multi-year contract

Last year the two parties agreed a multi-year contract for the supply of electricity and gas in the period 2015 – 2020.
