Fees for third-party banking clients are on the rise. These clients are generally large foreign companies that often operate worldwide and also have a bank account in the Netherlands.

Under various Dutch and foreign laws, banks must conduct more research on these clients and the payment transactions that take place on these accounts. The goal is to prevent criminal activity such as money laundering and terrorism financing. All of this involves costs.

The amended fee for this specific group of clients, which now pay EUR 105 per month, is in line with other financial services providers.

The change relates to a small group of clients on which banks are required to conduct due diligence. The clients in question were informed in early May.
