German authorities request new information as part of cum/ex investigation

As part of the ongoing cum/ex investigations, the German authorities today requested additional information from ABN AMRO Bank and ABN AMRO Clearing Bank in Germany and the Netherlands.

It is common knowledge that the German authorities have for some years been investigating a certain type of equity transaction carried out by a large number of financial institutions before 2012. The legal predecessor of ABN AMRO, Fortis Bank (Nederland) N.V., ABN AMRO and a few (former) subsidiaries were directly or indirectly involved in a number of these so-called cum/ex transactions.
