ABN AMRO and Neuflize OBC, ABN AMRO’s private bank in France, are pleased to announce the appointment of Mélanie Guerrato (40) as Country Executive France. Mélanie brings extensive experience in wealth management, commercial banking and retail banking, gained during her tenure at BNP Paribas. She is particularly recognised for her dynamism and her ability to combine a clear strategic vision with strong commitment to her teams. Mélanie will take up her role in March 2026.

This appointment follows Laurent Garret’s decision to step down at the end of 2025, after a distinguished career within the bank. Laurent Garret has made an important contribution to clients, employees, and the bank.

Mélanie Guerrato will have an important role in achieving one of the bank's long term ambitions: to become a top five European private bank. Her deep understanding of the challenges facing the banking sector and evolving client expectations, including in France regional markets, are real assets for ABN AMRO and Neuflize OBC.

Holding a Master’s degree in Law and a CESA from HEC Paris, Mélanie Guerrato began her career in 2007 in BNP Paribas’ Commercial Banking division. She joined Wealth Management in 2014, oversaw the merger of two branches and led the private bankers’ team. Her work focused on client proximity, innovation and the transformation of banking services. In 2022, she moved to Corporate Banking to lead strategic transactions with mid-sized companies, whether family-owned or listed. In 2024, she was appointed Regional Director for the France Grand Est region of Commercial Banking. In this role, she supervised the bank’s activities across the entire region and managed nearly 1,000 employees, contributing to local economic development in close collaboration with regional stakeholders.
