Dutch Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem has answered Parliament’s questions about irregularities at the ABN AMRO office in Dubai.

The Finance Minister informed Parliament that there has been a serious violation of internal rules, but that ABN AMRO’s internal investigation has not yielded any evidence of violations of international legislation on sanctions. In addition, no indications have been found suggesting that any ABN AMRO employee is culpable of fraud, terrorism financing or money-laundering practices.

The Finance Minister also stated that ABN AMRO has taken strict and sufficient measures and that there are no indications of a broader problem with internal supervision.
