SwatchPAY! at ABN AMRO

ABN AMRO has added SwatchPAY! to its range of wearable products, with six new wearable models now available.
SwatchPAY! makes contact-free payments as easy as possible. Following the successful launch in countries including China and Switzerland, the Swatch payment watch is now available in the Netherlands as well.
Almost all retailers in the Netherlands offer contact-free payment options. ABN AMRO is the first Dutch bank to offer payments via the SwatchPAY! system. Retail clients with a current account at ABN AMRO can select a SwatchPAY! watch of their choice, download the official SwatchPAY! app on their phone and activate the watch in a Swatch Store. The Bluetooth NFC device in the Swatch Store creates a link between the watch and the payment card by way of the app on the client’s smartphone. As soon as this process has been completed, the client can start making contact-free payments.
An added benefit of the collaboration between the bank and SwatchPAY! is that the payment terminal in the shop supplies the energy needed to make the payment. This means that – unlike a smartphone - the SwatchPAY! watch does not use batteries for the payment process and you don’t need to recharge your phone.
