What matters most to our employees? What kind of a bank do they want to work for? And what do they expect of their employer? We conducted dialogues with our employees throughout 2016 to hear which topics are at the top of their list. These are our top priorities and are referred to as ‘material topics’.

Clear, appropriate advice

Client satisfaction is a key ingredient of job satisfaction, so our employees want to support clients in selecting the products and services that best fit their personal situation. One way we offer our clients clear, appropriate advice is by providing mortgage advice by webcam – and we now offer this service in sign language, a first in the Netherlands.

Annual Econic

Co-creation and innovation

We are creating an environment in which innovation and co-creation are nurtured – and our employees appreciate this. But there’s also a lot of innovation going on in the world around us, and we have much to gain from teaming up with others. In June 2016 we opened the Econic innovation hub. Fintechs and start-ups meet up with our employees in this independent environment to develop and test ideas together.

Fraud Film Festival

Preventing corruption, fraud and cybercrime

Our staff want to know their employer is committed to preventing corruption, fraud and cybercrime. The bank promotes a culture in which all employees feel responsible for doing their part. We also help raise awareness by supporting the Fraud Film Festival, a two-day event featuring documentaries about fraud and its prevention.
