ABN AMRO: 25% increase in mortgage lending in Q2

ABN AMRO is seeing a further recovery on the housing market. The number of mortgage loans advanced showed a 23% increase in the second quarter of 2014 compared with the same period last year. In total, the bank advanced mortgage loans to an amount of EUR 1.92 billion in the second quarter of this year, compared with EUR 1.56 billion in the same period in 2013.
Increase in mortgage lending expected in Q3
ABN AMRO expects to see a further rise in mortgage lending in Q3, reflecting the rise in mortgage applications in the second three months. Compared with the second quarter of 2013, there was a 93% increase in the number of mortgage offers made by ABN AMRO’s main mortgage brands.
