ABN AMRO is increasing the rate at which it reduces its own carbon footprint. A budget has been reserved for the next 10 years to make buildings and systems even more energy-efficient. ABN AMRO has signed a contract with Koninklijke BAM Groep and Klokgroep, who play an important part in this process.

Marjolein Goense, Director of Facility Management: “We want to set the bar high. The goalis for our carbon footprint to be in line with the 2050 ‘Paris ambition’ in 2030. This means we will have an average energy consumption of 50 kWh per square metre of gross floor area. The experience we gain in the next few years will be shared with our clients.”

Greene concept according to circular principle.

All offices will be designed according to the Greene concept. Buildings are renovated assustainably and circularly as possible, meaning materials are reused as often and as long as possible. This helps solve the problem of a decreasing supply of resources and materials and reduces carbon emissions. The first pilot office following this concept was opened last summer. With this investment, carbo emissions will decrease by a total of 65% compared to 2020 in the next 10 years.
